Cupping is a Traditional Chinese Medicine modality that has been used for over 2500 years by many different cultures. A suction is created in the skin with cups to draw stagnant blood out of the tissues deep within the body. Cupping has been traditionally used to detox and draw toxins from the body through the skin and has been used by families to draw colds and flus from the body when another family member is ill. In addition, it loosens connective tissue (fascia) and allows for more movement in muscles and joints. Cupping can be used to treat many injuries and restricted mobility within the body. It can also be used for beauty in reducing the appearance of cellulite as well as wrinkles and puffiness in the face.
