Hi there! My name is Sophia Hirst Barsoski (she/her) and I’m a social work student currently doing my masters at York University.
I am so excited to join the FHS team; clinical practice has always been a goal of mine, and I can’t wait to share my passion for holistic counselling and socially conscious therapy with you all!
Prior to completing my masters I worked as a non-profit manager at a community campus TV station and have been involved in several grassroots and activist organisations over the years, many of which were based in sexual violence advocacy. I also have an undergraduate degree in gender and sexuality studies from Concordia University, and am particularly interested in applying a queer feminist lens to psychotherapy.
I love social work because of its commitment to social justice and acknowledging the ways in which the greater political context shapes our lives and our health. I believe that in order to promote healing, we cannot treat individuals as isolated entities and must take into consideration the greater forces shaping our experience and identity. I look forward to working with new clients and helping others move forward on the path to greater emotional clarity and resilience.
In my free time I love to go for hikes and write music!

Therapy is a space to uncover, re-discover, and explore parts of who you are and who you’d like to be. Others may see you as capable, organized, and driven, yet inside you may feel anxious, restless, or emotionally drained. Slowing down may feel unfamiliar—or even uncomfortable. Perhaps your mind rarely stops, you shoulder many responsibilities, or you find it’s hard to be with your difficult thoughts and feelings.
I aim to provide a compassionate, supportive space for those who carry a lot, and are ready to put some of it down. I work with adults who experience anxiety, overwhelm, or difficulty pausing and connecting with themselves. My approach blends warmth
with gentle challenge, helping you understand yourself more deeply, develop steadier coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change—all without asking you to lose who you are.
I integrate evidence-based approaches with a focus on mindfulness and self-compassion, tailoring sessions to what feels most helpful for you. I welcome adults
from all walks of life and create a space where curiosity and honesty are encouraged. If you’re ready to explore, slow down, and reconnect with yourself, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you on this journey.

I am a queer, neurodivergent (ADHD), and white settler who values accessibility, and will collaboratively modify my approach to best suit your needs. My work is always trauma-informed, attachment-informed, anti-oppressive and strengths-based.
As a social worker, I recognize the various complex systems that coalesce and impact an individual’s experience of mental health (such as race, gender, sexual orientation, class, ability, and more). Regardless of if you are experiencing stress, a mood disorder, or something else, I want to make space to support you in mindfully exploring your experiences and working towards your mental health goals.
A major focus of my work as a therapist is supporting transgender and gender diverse clients with exploring the relationship between their experience of gender and mental health, as well as navigating various components of social and medical transition.
During my downtime, I love to be outdoors and spending time in nature or foraging for fungi. When it’s time to recharge, you can find me curled up on the couch with my Nintendo switch or a good book!

I am so grateful to be a part of the multi-disciplinary team here at For Health’s Sake Kingsway! I have been living in this area for about eight years. I love my neighbours here, the river and the trails, and the wildlife along the Humber River.
“At the heart of my practice is a genuine desire to help people feel better, in any way that I can. I became an RMT not just to ease tension in the body, but to be a part of something bigger– to contribute to my community in a way that promotes lasting health and well-being. Massage is a powerful way to support both the body and mind. Stress can show up in unexpected ways and the body has a way of holding onto tension and pain that can feel impossible to overcome. Together, we’ll communicate openly to find the techniques that work best for you and create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll usually find me outdoors soaking up the magic of nature, or at home working on a drawing or a handmade project. I’m a lover of all creatures (and obsessed with dogs), and I believe the bond we share with animals is a powerful part of our overall well-being.
These passions ground my approach to wellness– one that extends beyond the physical body and into how we connect with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us.”

I approach challenges with a touch of wit and a healthy dose of sarcasm, believing that a well-timed laugh can make even the toughest situations more manageable. Do you ever feel like no one truly understands? Struggling to find the right words for your thoughts and feelings?
As a Filipina therapist, I know how much culture shapes the way we see ourselves and the world around us. In my space, you don’t have to pause to translate your story or explain the details. I get it, and that means we can spend more time focusing on you.
You understand your life and its challenges better than anyone else. I’m only here to help you write your story. Whether it’s navigating romantic relationships, family dynamics, immigrant experiences, or friendships, I’m here to offer guidance and support, not to erase the issues, but to help you work through them.
Let’s explore it together. I create a space where you can be authentic and open, helping you uncover who you truly are, what matters most to you, and what you need to move forward. Your comfort, emotional safety, and our therapeutic relationship are my top priority.

Hi, I’m William — a physiotherapist with a Master of Physiotherapy from McMaster
University and a deep passion for helping people move, feel, and live better.
With three young children of my own, I understand how busy life can be and how easily self-care gets pushed aside. That perspective shapes my approach to physiotherapy: practical, empathetic, and focused on helping patients get back to the things that matter most to them.
I chose physiotherapy because I love problem-solving, working directly with people,
and guiding them through meaningful recovery. My clinical focus includes shoulder,
lower-back, knee, ankle, and postural conditions, but I enjoy treating all types of
musculoskeletal injuries. I take a whole-body perspective and often address
contributing movement patterns or surrounding joints to create long-lasting change rather than temporary relief.
What I enjoy most is educating patients so they fully understand their condition and
feel confident in their rehabilitation. My sessions typically blend manual therapy,
targeted exercise, taping, cupping, acupuncture, and other evidence-based
techniques tailored to each individual. I believe there is always more than one path to
improvement, so I work collaboratively with every patient to find a treatment plan that
fits their goals, preferences, and lifestyle.
Outside the clinic, I love spending time with my family, traveling with my wife and kids,
and watching MMA. I’m excited to join FHS Kingsway and help build a supportive,
empowering environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your health journey.

My path into physiotherapy grew out of a love for movement. Through school sports, swimming, and dance, I found myself just as interested in performance as in the science behind it. I genuinely loved human biology and anatomy—especially how the body moves, adapts, and recovers. I was the one designing team warmups and asking questions about injuries and return-to-play. Physiotherapy felt like the natural way to combine movement, science, and helping people.
I take a gentle, evidence-based, and collaborative approach to rehab. My sessions feel clear and unrushed, with plenty of space for questions. I focus on thorough assessments, hands-on treatment when helpful, targeted exercise, practical education, and plans that feel realistic and manageable between appointments.
Clinically, I work in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy, major joint rehabilitation, movement and posture retraining, and repetitive or workload-related strain. I aim to restore real-life function—whether that means returning to work demands, walking and stairs, lifting, sport, or leisure activities.
Outside the clinic, I’m happiest when I’m moving—long walks and biking in summer, yoga and dance in winter. I value simple, sustainable habits that support recovery without turning life into a project. I’m proud to contribute to a supportive, whole-person, multidisciplinary care environment, like For Health
